Buangor Primary School with a current enrolment of 28, is a rural school located in the township of Buangor, situated between Beaufort and Ararat, just off the Western Highway. It is set in the midst of River Redgum country, renowned for its fine wool and wine growing. The majority of families with children attending the school run farming enterprises.
The original red-brick building (with attached residence) was erected in 1878 and today houses the Junior class (Prep-2) and serves also as a storage area. Extensive renovations were recently done and the whole building has been beautifully refurbished.
A well appointed weather-board building contains the senior department (3-6 class), sick bay, Staffroom, General Office and Principals Office. The school grounds are extensive, leading to native bushland and a backdrop of Mount Cole and Mount Buangor.
Committed to developing an educational partnership between teachers, students, parents and the community. Buangor Primary School encourages a family of caring for and respecting others. The school strives to produce responsible independent, caring and co-operative students who have developed skills which provide a foundation for life-long learning.
